                              ORDINANCE NO.   9965 
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                   PART II, SECTION 3-61 RELATIVE TO THE
                   DEFINITION OF A ROOF SIGN.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
                  
       	      SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 

       OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that Chattanooga City Code, Part II,
       Section 3-61 be and the same is hereby amended by adding a new
       sentence to the definition of "Roof Sign" as follows:
              Notwithstanding the foregoing, a sign not in excess
              of 48 inches in height may be placed above and
              attached to a marquee as a projecting sign in a C-3
              Central Business Zone or in the downtown
              Chattanooga area as defined in A73-52 of this
              Chapter.
             
       	      SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance
       shall be effective two weeks from and after its passage on third
       and final reading as required by law.
